The great warpath: British military sites from Albany to Crown Point
An archeologist offers a fresh look at the lives of common soldiers on the colonial American frontier. Enhanced by photographs and drawings, Starbuck's interpretation of the journals, huts, pottery, ammunition, and other artifacts found at encampments and forts in the Lake Champlain, Lake George, and Hudson River area vividly re-creates the difficulties of soldiering.

I found the book an easy and helpful read with lots of helpful illustrations.

I would recommend this book to any serious student of the region's history and to anyone interested in visiting the sites discussed. Nov 23, Susan marked it as to-read.
